Richmond, Va. (Sept. 26, 2016) – HCA Virginia has named Greg Lowe the new chief executive officer of Chippenham & Johnston-Willis Hospitals.

Lowe comes to Chippenham & Johnston-Willis from HCA’s Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce, Fla., a 370 bed, Level II trauma center, where he has served as CEO since 2013. Prior to that, he served as the market chief executive officer for Lake Norman and Davis Regional Medical Centers in North Carolina. He replaces Tim McManus who recently was appointed as president of the HCA Capital Division in July.

“Greg is an experienced visionary with an outstanding track record of innovative ideas and executive leadership,” said McManus. “He is strongly suited to serve the needs of our community and we look forward to seeing his efforts take Chippenham & Johnston-Willis Hospitals to the next level.”

During his tenure at Lawnwood, Lowe led the opening of a Level III NICU and creation of a regional neonatal transport team. He also developed a dedicated pediatric emergency department and created the only Comprehensive Stroke Center on the Treasure Coast. The hospital also received an A rating by Leap Frog in 2014 and 2015 and also was recognized by HCA in 2014 as one of the Top 5 Most Improved Hospitals for Employee Engagement.

Lowe received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah and attended the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management where he earned Master’s degrees in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration. He will assume the new role on Nov. 1.
